MATTAPOISETT — The Old Rochester Regional High School Student Council visited the Massachusetts State House on Tuesday, Feb. 27 after receiving an invitation from State Senator Michael Rodriguez and legislative aide Kyle Neves.

The 35 members of the student council were taken on a guided tour of the building where they were able to ask questions about the workings of the state government.

Following the tour, Rodrigues treated the student council to lunch.

"We believe it is vital to support students in civic engagement, and we are honored that Senator Rodrigues extended this invitation," said Superintendent Mike Nelson.

Secretary of Student Council Andrew Porter added "It was a unique educational experience that I hope we can continue in the future."
