Ever Wondered how to Tag a Monarch Butterfly?

By Wareham Land Trust | Sep 19, 2016

Come to MA Audubon's After School Insect Discovery & Monarch Tagging program on Tuesday, Sep 27 from 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm at the Allens Pond Wildlife Sanctuary field station, 1280 Horseneck Road in Westport, MA.  Pack up the entire family and join us afterschool to look for butterflies and other insects with an entomologist.  Learn more about the monarch butterfly - and - if the weather agrees, how to catch and tag them as they make their way along the migratory route to Mexico.

Thanks to the generosity of the United Way of Greater New Bedford – the September 27th session is FREE for residents of Greater New Bedford. Qualified towns are: Acushnet, Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Freetown, Marion, Mattapoisett, Rochester and Wareham.

Want to attend but not from these towns? Fee is $6 per child and $8 per adult and can be paid at the program start.

Registration can be done online using this link http://www.massaudubon.org/get-outdoors/program-catalog#program:sanctuary=25:program_code=47742 , by emailing allenspond@massaudubon.org or calling (508) 636-2437.  Please be sure to leave your phone number so we can contact you if inclement weather.
