Mattapoisett PD assists with drug busts
Carver — Mattapoisett Police Department detectives Jason King and Scott Leblanc assisted Carver with two drug investigations in the past week.
On March 10, the Mattapoisett officers assisted Carver police and the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department execute a search warrant at 25 Center St. in Carver. The police departments discovered and seized several grams of cocaine and almost $4,000 in cash.
David Russell was arrested and charged with possession to distribute cocaine, trafficking cocaine and conspiracy to violate drug laws. He was held on $10,000 bail and was arraigned at Wareham District Court on March 13.
On March 14, Carver arrested two men and seized what was suspected to be Fentanyl. After a traffic stop on Wareham Street in Carver, a search warrant was executed at 4 Williams St.
Ivon Almeida of Brockton was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute a class B substance, conspiracy to violate drug laws and two outstanding warrants relating to traffic charges.
Brandon Davies of Middleborough was also arrested and charged with conspiracy to violate drug laws and failure to stop for police. The men were arraigned on March 15 at Wareham District Court.
Mattapoisett and Carver are part of SEMLEC – the South Eastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council.
