Rochester Police investigate house break-ins, warn residents
Following a series of house break-ins, the Rochester Police Department has issued a warning to residents to keep an eye out for suspicious activity.
On Friday, March 9, officers investigated a "breaking and entering" on Walnut Plain Road. Another break-in was reported on Featherbed Lane on Monday, March 12.
Officials said that in both cases, stolen items included jewelry, small electronics, gaming systems and cash.
Rochester Police again responded to Walnut Plain Road on March 14, after an alarm was sounded at a private residence. Police say the suspect must have set-off the alarm and then fled the scene prior to their arrival.
Rochester Police are investigating the break-ins and are asking that residents report any suspicious persons or vehicles immediately by calling 911.
Police have asked that residents lock all doors and windows when leaving the house, keep alarms set, lock expensive items in a safe deposit box, and advise residents not to hide spare keys outside their homes.
