Mattapoisett — On Friday, Sept. 30 at around 2:30 a.m. Mattapoisett Police Officer Nicholas Lorenco pulled a car over on 195 westbound for a broken taillight. When he approached the passenger side door and asked for license and registration, he saw a firearm in the glove compartment.

Lorenco ordered the passenger, Nazario Garate, 34, of Hyannis, and driver Jessica Walton, 27, of Hyannis, out of the car.

Trooper Katie Lorenco then notified Nicholas Lorenco that two gas stations in Bourne had been robbed by a male wearing a mask and carrying a handgun. Garate and Walton fit the descriptions given and were arrested.
