'The Treasure of the Sierra Madre' to be screened
Marion — "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre" will be screened on Friday, April 14, at 7 p.m. in the Music Hall.
The showing is part of the Classic Film Series sponsored by the the Sippican Historical Society and Marion Council on Aging.
Released in 1948, "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre" tells the story of two men down on their luck -- Fred Dobbs (Humphrey Bogart) and Bob Curtin (Tim Holt). The men find themselves in Mexico and link up with an old-timer named Howard (Walter Huston) who is prospecting for gold. A battle of good and evil ensues.
David Pierce will lead the discussion portion at the movie’s conclusion. There is no charge to attend. Popcorn will be provided.
