Walnut Plain road the scene of house fire

Rochester — Rochester Fire Department quickly knocked out a fire at 380 Walnut Plain Road on Monday afternoon.

The cause of the fire, which left end of the house charred, is not yet known.

According to Fire Chief Scott Weigel, the fire was contained to the outside of the rental

One man was home and was uninjured.

“They did a great job stopping it,” Weigel said of his firefighters.

Marion Fire and Mattapoisett Fire also assisted.
