    <title>Health agent calls for one district</title>
    <link>http://sippican.villagesoup.com/p/health-agent-calls-for-one-district/1001255?source=rss</link>
	    <description>
	        To the editor,
The Rochester Board of Selectmen and the Town Administrator have decided, on their own, to put an article on the Rochester Town Meeting Warrant to dissolve Rochester’s ties with the Marion Rochester Regional Health District. The Rochester Board of Health and the Marion Board of Health members have expressed their firm opposition to the article.
Many townspeople may ask, what is the Marion Rochester ...

    <title>Health District withdrawal would harm town</title>
    <link>http://sippican.villagesoup.com/p/health-district-withdrawal-would-harm-town/1001188?source=rss</link>
	    <description>
	        To the editor,
The Boards of Health of the Towns of Rochester and Marion wish to reply to recent newspaper articles and statements by Rochester’s Town Administrator and Town Counsel concerning the status of the Marion Rochester Regional Health District, in which they have attempted to build a case for withdrawal from the District for what they claim to be reasons of liability and savings. We believe neither ...

    <title>Mattapoisett should avoid Route 6 development</title>
    <link>http://sippican.villagesoup.com/p/mattapoisett-should-avoid-route-6-development/1001113?source=rss</link>
	    <description>
	        To the editor,
Good grief!
A press report states a member of the Mattapoisett Planning Board suggests the area all along Route 6 in town, from the Fairhaven Town Line to Aucoot Road (close to the Marion town line) be rezoned business.
In my younger days, the cry was let’s not let Route 6 become like Route 6 in Buzzards Bay.
Next came the horror show along Route 6 in North Dartmouth.
Route 6 in East Fairhaven has ...

    <title>Health district shouldn't be divided</title>
    <link>http://sippican.villagesoup.com/p/health-district-shouldnt-be-divided/1000597?source=rss</link>
	    <description>
	        To the editor:
It is my understanding that there will be an article in the Rochester Town Meeting Warrant proposing for Rochester to withdraw from the Marion Rochester Regional Health District. This article is in direct opposition to the recommendations of the members of both the Marion and Rochester Boards of Health. I believe that if this article passes, it will severely impact the services that the Boards of ...

	    <description>
	        To the Editor:
The library, staff, and Friends of the Mattapoisett Library would like to thank Jon and Michelle Pope of Uncle Jon's Coffee and Cafe for providing coffee and a delicious array of pastry to the participants of A Writers Day Away held at the library on Sunday, April 28.
Their generous support for library events is always so appreciated, and we heartily thank Uncle Jon's staff for all they do for the ...

	    <description>
	        To the editor:
I would like to extend my thanks to Old Hammondtown School science teacher Laura Mirabito, and Old Hammondtown School Principal Matt D'Andrea for working with us to make the sixth grade field trip to Nasketucket State Park a success. Additionally, I would like to thank the Mattapoisett Land Trust for funding the buses and Land Trust President Gary Johnson in particular for helping to shepherd kids ...

    <title>Unsightly solar panels? It could be worse</title>
    <link>http://sippican.villagesoup.com/p/unsightly-solar-panels-it-could-be-worse/997059?source=rss</link>
	    <description>
	        To the Editor:
Re: Solar By-Law/Marion Energy Committee
We have a lot of rights as citizens of the United States and as property owners in the Town of Marion. Let’s paint a fictionalized picture: I’m overlooking the pool from my deck where my two children, their four friends and our dogs are playing in a joyful (read loud) manner, enjoying a swim to cool off after playing on our tennis court. There are big ruts ...

    <title>Will Commercial Solar Farms Come to Marion’s Residential Neighborhoods?</title>
    <link>http://sippican.villagesoup.com/p/will-commercial-solar-farms-come-to-marion-s-residential-neighborhoods/996886?source=rss</link>
	    <description>
	        To the editor:
The Marion Spring Town Meeting Warrant has arrived in your mailbox. The warrant contains two solar zoning bylaw articles to be voted on at the May 13 meeting. Yes, Marion needs good solar bylaws. There is no disagreement on this basic issue. Marion needs to protect our neighborhoods and property values form the adverse consequence of out-of-town solar speculators and poorly sited solar installations...
