MARION – A silver four-door vehicle rolled over and struck a utility pole in Marion early Sunday, Feb. 25, shutting down Wareham Road for much of the day.

The car’s sole occupant was outside the vehicle when the fire department arrived and “was transported to Tobey Hospital with non-life threatening injuries,” Marion Fire Chief Brian Jackvony said.

As of Monday, Feb. 26 the cause of the accident is “still under investigation,” according to Marion Police Chief Richard Nighelli.

The Marion Fire Department received a call for the crash at approximately 6:25 a.m., according to Jackvony.

The crash closed Wareham Road from the time of the accident to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Jackvony said.

It was not known if the driver was a Marion resident as of Monday.
