MATTAPOISETT — Find out what the buzz is at the Mattapoisett Free Public Library.

The Sustainability Partnership of the library will showcase Dr. Robert Gegear, an assistant biology professor at UMass Dartmouth, who will answer questions like what good are bees, why should we save them and more Wednesday, May 15 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the library’s meeting room.

Gegear will share his knowledge and expertise on pollinators and the importance of these creatures while answering questions about plant pollinators, their secret lives and the fundamental role pollination systems play in supporting agriculture and wildlife diversity. The talk will conclude with an overview of citizen science efforts to support bee conservation efforts.
