Marion Lois Mott (known as “Lois” to family and friends), 92, of Marion, Massachusetts, peacefully passed away on April 9, 2024, at Sippican Healthcare Center.

Marion was born on February 7, 1932, to Robert A. and Lottie (Durham) Gross in Smyrna, Delaware. She graduated from Delaware State College High School, and later moved and lived in Rochester, Massachusetts, (60 years) and then Marion, Massachusetts, (14 years).

Marion worked for Sippican Ocean Systems for many years. She began as an assembler during the Apollo moon landing missions, and was later promoted to purchasing agent for government and underwater vehicle contracts. She retired in 1994 from Sippican Ocean Systems.

Marion had a joy for sewing, for the outdoors in taking walks, and most of all, spending time with her family.

Marion is survived by her children, Richard I. Mott of New Bedford, Massachusetts, Warren (Tommy) Mott of Wareham, Massachusetts, Peter Mott of Clarksburg, Maryland, Paul Mott of Seattle, Washington, and Amy Mott of Rochester, Massachusetts; sister, Loretta Jordan of Germantown, Maryland; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Frank (Skippy) J. Mott, III.

A funeral Mass will be held on July 29, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High Street, Wareham, Massachusetts. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Church cemetery. A “Celebration of Life” will be held at the Rosebrook Event Center, 50 Rosebrook Place #1 Wareham, MA 02571 afterwards.
