WAREHAM – The Wareham Gatemen (14-8) are back in action tonight as they take on the Falmouth Commodores (9-10-1) tonight at Spillane Field at 6:30 p.m.

The Gatemen enter play today winners of two straight having won their last two games by a combined score of 21-2. On Thursday versus Bourne, the Gatemen scored runs in the first five innings and took a 9-1 lead through the first half of the game. Six different Gatemen had multi-hit games, including a 3-5 night for Isaac Collins who raised his average over .300 with his solid night at the plate.

Ryan Garcia and Easton Lucas were the two Gatemen pitchers on the hill in that one and they surrendered just five hits and allowed one run. Garcia picked up his first win of the season and lowered his ERA to 2.25 following that outing.

The Commodores enter tonight’s game under .500, but red hot as of late. The Commodores are 7-2-1 over their last 10 games and have won two in a row. Falmouth won their last game 17-7 in a route over Cotuit. Cam Cannon was the offensive star in that one as he recorded six RBIs on three hits.

Tonight’s game will just be the second time these two division rivals have met this season. Wareham and Falmouth will play each other a total of five times over these final 22 games. In their one previous meeting, Wareham was victorious 7-4 back on June 15.

In that game, Mitchell Stone, tonight’s Commodores starter, also started against the Gatemen. Stone threw four innings and allowed just one run in that contest. The Gatemen used a 5-run seventh to jump ahead of the Commodores as the rally was capped off with a 3-run homer by Andrew Vaughn to right field. Will Proctor, tonight’s starter for Wareham, picked up in the win relief.
