Report of shots fired in Rochester

Rochester — Rochester Police responded to gunshots fired on Braley Hill Road around 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

Emergency broadcasts indicated a possible "self-inflicted" gunshot, though the nature of the incident and details remain unclear.

Rochester Police Chief Paul Magee referred questions to the Plymouth County District Attorney's office.

A vehicle was towed from the area by Murphy's Auto late Tuesday evening.

Utility repair vehicles were inactive, but with lights on at the intersection of Route 105 and Braley Hill Road as officers worked the scene. It is unclear whether the two incidents were related.

Emergency broadcasts indicated that people at the scene were heading to the Rochester Police Department on Dexter Lane around 10:30 p.m. Rochester and Acushnet police were still on scene as of 11:30 p.m.
