Rochester Council on Aging: October events and day trips

Rochester — The Rochester Council on Aging is offering a number of day trips and events in October.  Call the Rochester Council on Aging at 508-763- 8723 for more information or to sign up. If you need transportation, call the Senior Center at least 24-48 hours in advance of a trip or event.

Day Trips

October 13: Foliage Ride and Lunch to Merrimac Valley Premium Shopping Outlets. Buses leave at 8:30a.m. and return at 5 p.m.

Sunday, October 15: Thimbles & Friends Quilt Show, Abington, MA. Admission to the show is $7. Buses leave at 9 a.m. and return at 4 p.m.


Soup and Sandwich Mondays: The Senior Center offers a sandwich lunch on Mondays at noon. A different menu offering will be served each week, along with chips, salad and dessert. All are welcome. The senior center requests that those planning to attend call in advance; an accurate count means that enough food will be prepared for all. A suggested donation for the meal is $4.

October 10: Happy Hookers rug hooking group will meet from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

October 12: Rochester resident and Author Richard Cutler will be at the center at 2:30 p.m. to promote his book and for book signing. Books will be available for purchase as well. Purchase price is $10 per book.

October 12: Veterans Monthly Social from 6-8 p.m. All Rochester veterans of any age are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served; there is no charge.

October 13 and each Friday thereafter: Beginners Conversational French Classes are offered by Connie Pierce. Classes are free and open to anyone interested in learning French.
