MATTAPOISETT — Mattapoisett Free Public Library is offering a rock painting class for teens and adults from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Friday during summer at the library.

Decoratively painted and scripted rocks have become the rage for people of all ages trying to express creativity and inner ponderings. Folks have found, painted or inscribed meaningful or inspirational sayings or scenes on rocks and then releasing them back into the wild for others to find and discover.

Some materials will be available at the library, as well as books for ideas, but participants may also bring their own rocks and art stuff.

Mattapoisett Free Public Library is located at 7 Barstow St. For more information, call 508-758-4171 or go online to: www.MattapoisettLibrary.org.
