Sippican Choral Society looking for new members

Aug 28, 2017

Marion — The Sippican Choral Society is looking for new members to help ring in the Christmas 2017 season.

The Choral Society is a group of local singers who love to sing. Rehearsals are on Monday evenings. Director Dr. Tianxu Zhou, works closely with the group on all music selections.

The Choral Society's program this year includes Schubert’s ‘Mass In G’ as well as many pieces which embody the spirit of the Christmas season. The Sippican School Children's Chorus will be joining the Choral Society again this year.

The Sippican Choral Society is a volunteer organization and does not require auditioning; however, there is a select Chamber Chorus which requires an audition, should you choose to participate. There is a $35 membership fee.

Rehearsals start on Monday, September 11 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at Wickenden Chapel on the campus of Tabor Academy. The Choral Society's Christmas 2017 concert will be presented on December 1 at St. Lawrence Church, New Bedford, and on December 3 at Wickenden Chapel, Marion.
