Rochester — What is a great senior fundraiser where everybody in the school could play a game to fundraise for the senior class? Survey says, “Family Feud," hosted by Old Colony Superintendent Aaron Polansky!

Old Colony's second annual "Family Feud" took place on Friday, April 6. The game night is an annual fundraiser event for Old Colony's senior class. Students, teachers, families and school committee members all participated in the game, which featured questions like, “What slender animal would not make a good piggy bank?” The top answers, according to the people surveyed? Snake, lizard, giraffe, and cat.

Some of the Family Feud teams were made up of all students; other groups were mixed, featuring teachers, students and even a few sports coaches.

The competition featured four rounds slotted in brackets; the winner of one round would advance to the next.

In the semi-finals, four teams were left standing: the Hair Bandits, from the Cosmetology Department;  Frame of Mind, made up of Computer-Aided Drafting and Design students and teachers; Team Rocket, a mixed group of teachers and students, and the School Committee Crusaders, made up of (you guessed it) School Committee members.

The School Committee Crusaders came up against the Hair Bandits, while Team Rocket faced off against Frame of Mind.

When the dust had settled, the School Committee Crusaders faced off against Frame of Mind for the game title—The Crusaders would win the tournament.

The total funds raised by Family Feud totaled to $560. The School Committee Crusaders donated its $300 in prize money to the Class of 2018.

Organizers of the event are hoping to run a third annual Family Feud event in 2019.
