Talent, clothing on display at Kate's Simple Eats

Aug 09, 2017

Marion — Austin Franklin and Sterling Benkhart, founders of Twain Clothiers, are hosting an event on Thursday, Aug. 10 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Kate’s Simple Eats.

The event will support up and coming authors and musicians and will feature live music, readings of original essays, open bar and light fare. The Twain Clothiers summer line will also be showcased.

Twain Clothiers was launched in 2016 by the recent Tabor Academy Graduates. The two now attend Emerson College and Suffolk University, and wanted to start Twain Clothiers to bridge old and new in the fashion world, and also encourage young people to read, write and be original.

“We named our company Twain Clothiers after Mark Twain, a favorite author and trailblazer of original thinking. Our mission is to encourage individuals to read, write and be original,” Franklin said.

The duo hopes that events such as the one at Kate’s Simple Eats will help them achieve their mission.

“We think that hosting events with young talent will shine a spotlight on what Twain Clothiers is all about,” Benkhart said.
