Rochester — An annual tradition, teachers and staff members at Rochester Memorial School bid farewell to students on the last day of school through chiming, banging, shaking, and puffing.

As students boarded the buses on Monday, they were serenaded by teachers and staff playing instruments. The buses circled the parking lots as the music continued, and children popped their heads out of the windows and waved goodbye.

The tradition is more than 20 years old.
