Buzzards Bay Sail & Power Squadron, a local boating organization part of United States Power Squadron (America’s Boating Club), is offering a boating safety course and a series of seminars.

America’s Boating Course, a basic boating safety course, begins April 30. The overview course is nationally approved through the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators and is accepted by Massachusetts for the issuance of boating safety certificates. The class is $65 per student and meets from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays beginning April 30. Pre-registration is required.

On May 1, Buzzards Bay Sail & Power Squadron begins a seminar program with a presentation on anchoring, followed by May 8 and May 22 presentations on boat handling. A May 29 seminar will cover New England and Cape Cod Weather and a May 30 seminar will feature a buffet and hands-on marlinspike. Costs differ between seminars.
