The Wareham Garden Club was organized in 1938 and federated in 1942. We are members of the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts and The National Garden Club, Inc. Presently our group consists of 100 hard-working, talented members including numerous designers and judges. Our design classes develop and enhance our members skills and interests. The varied monthly program speakers center on design, conservation, horticulture and gardening.
Objectives
Our objectives are to promote the mutual interest in and enjoyment of gardens; to exchange ideas and methods, seeds and plants, and other garden material among our members; to aid in projects for beautifying our town; to study and enjoy wildlife; to educate and legislate for the protection of all natural resources; to preserve and rejuvenate our environment.
Projects
Engraved bricks and/or plantings in memory of deceased members; Christmas decorations for historic buildings; monthly garden therapy at Gateway Adult Center and Forestview; civic beautification, historic preservation; anti-litter campaign; educational tulip planting at Decas School
