Rochester — Representatives of Wellspring Farm met briefly with Rochester's Planning Board on July 25 to settle site plan finalizations before what they hope is a conclusion to a drawn out approval process.

Wellspring Farm has been seeking a site plan review in order to continue to operate an equestrian therapy center for special needs children for several months

George Boerger, the representative of Jim and Holly Vogel, owners of Wellspring Farm, reviewed a finalized plan of construction for the site.

Planning Board Chair Arnie Johnson had at previous meetings scolded Boerger and the Vogels for submitting plans that did not match what they had already constructed at the site, and for starting construction of certain elements without approval from the Planning Board.

At Tuesday's meeting, Boerger, alongside engineer Jim Webby, presented the board with updated plans. He pointed out the areas that had already been completed, and explained that the updated plans label what is existing and what is future work on the site.

"And are you planning to put an 8' full panel stockade fence along the entire border of the property?" Johnson asked.

"It's my understanding that that was the wish of the board," Boerger replied. "If parts of the existing fence aren't an 8' solid panel, they'll be replaced."

The review application was continued until August 22. The board scheduled a site walk in advance of the meeting, in the hopes of being able to wrap up the application at the August 22 meeting.
